Meet the Coach
Coach Steve, a Scarborough, Ontario native, grew up a rabid Maple Leafs and Raptors fan. This passion led him through a childhood of athletic dominance, as a three-sport high school athlete with over 20 years of hockey experience. This was followed by a cup of coffee at Sportsnet and several other corporate ventures with Rogers and Molson.

But after a few years of hosting world-class events and rubbing elbows with the who’s who of hockey, Coach Steve felt it was time to give back to the community and do what he was put on this earth to do – coach the baddest band of young hockey players, while making men of boys and kings of men one rep at a time in the weightroom.
After a phone call with his old coach, Coach Steve took on the challenge of coaching his old youth hockey team. In today's participation trophy era that preaches teamwork and fun, Coach Steve 's team adopted a Win-At-All-Costs mentality. This led to the greatest year of their young lives, scratching and clawing from the basement dwellings of the u8 North York Hockey League, right to a championship run. Widely-considered “The Miracle in Scarborough,” this achievement led to an All-Star appearance for the first-year coach and a few of his players.

After the season and some deep reflection, it was time to run it again. Now leading the grittiest group of hockey players through the murky waters of minor hockey in the GTHL, narrowly avoiding league removal for tampering and recruiting violations, all while raising banners and chasing rings, Coach Steve felt it was time to expand his services to other teams and individuals. He began independently training hockey players of all ages and levels off-ice, from youth players to the junior/ collegiate level and pro. This experience would soon expand to people from all walks of life now training with him.
Now with a growing reputation as “The People’s Strength Coach,” Coach Steve continues to work with both athletes and the common (wo)man in Toronto’s east end. When Steven’s not lifting with the Kings and Queens of Scarborough, you can likely find him working on his jumper for his men’s basketball team, the Scarlem Globetrotters, or fine-tuning his slap shot to maintain beer league excellence.
